We found a lake to camp by our first evening in Poland. Little did we know, that was THE spot for an annual reunion, "bunker party", for many Polish people. Near the lake, you can access some of the tunnels that were built around WWII. We found out that throughout the years, groups of friends would gather for a weekend to explore the tunnels, swim at the lake, camp, and drink some beer & vodka. We met a couple of very kind Polish guys that helped us understand the tradition of the weekend and that rather than exploring the tunnels nowadays, it is more of a reunion of old friends all coming back together to catch up for a weekend of camping.

It was rather interesting and both of us are still puzzled...nearly 100% of the people there were dressed in army patterned shorts/pants and a black shirt, ha. Was it their casual, daily attire? If so, that's sweet..or was it attire for the weekend of fun? If so, that is great too, ha - let's just say we did not fit in with Austin's salmon colored swim trunks and my striped t-shirt and shorts!
