We found a border that is not popular by travelers and read that since COVID, they only let commercial vehicles through. Since it was semi on our route to Chile, we thought we would give the border crossing a try regardless.
When we arrived at the border station, the officer told us there was no immigration office and they could not let us cross. We didn't argue and headed to the nearest small town, it sat at 13,000 feet. NW Argentina is at a very high altitude in general! On our way to the town, I jumped on the bike and gave Austin a break from all the washboard roads, it was super fun riding the bike!! Austin enjoyed the sidecar too :)
