When we drove from Essaouira to Marrakech, we stumbled upon these goats in a tree.

The photo below is actually unnatural and sad. We drove by about 5 trees like this and what is actually happening is the shepherds tie the goats to the trees and then charge people money if they park and get out to take a photo.

In a more natural setting, the goats in Northern Africa do climb in the trees but only about 1-2 goats will climb in each tree to access more food so you’ll see a whole herd of 30 goats grazing and maybe 1 or 2 up in a tree grazing. It’s still pretty wild to see them up there. Sometimes the shepherds will put big rocks at the base of the trees to help the goats get into the trees too!
