While on the way to Portugal, we broke down on the border of Spain / Portugal after hearing a lot of clunking and screeching noises. We were on our way to Rob and Zayne’s place (Gusto Motorbikes) to get new tires but ended up spending a lot more time with them due to the breakdown, ha! Thankfully, Rob was able to help us with a tow the last couple of hours to get to their shop and home.

Once we got to their place, Rob helped us figured out the issue: the sidecar bearing was broken, the ring should be filled completely with metal balls to allow fluid circular movement in a consistent manner but about 2/3 of the balls are missing so that caused the axis to be very wiggly which then would create a clunking noise intermittently when the wheel is spinning on the axis while we drive. Rob was able to get the parts we needed and assembled the bike and the new bearings fixed it all! He helped us refine a few other times on the bike for smoother riding as well. Rob taught us so much along the way and we are grateful for that.

We also had a blast staying with them and getting to know Rob and Zayne at a more personal level too. They both are very adventurous people who share a love for motorcycles and also exploring new places so we all got along quite well :) Zayne is a graphic designer and they have helped Ural with their newest bike paint designs too! Thank you both so much for your help and hospitality!! We hope to see you sometime down the road, cheers!
