We caught a day of sunshine on a no-drive day so we hit the trails and hiked above the Danube River, it was so beautiful! This section of the river is actually the border of Serbia so across the water is a different country! There were countless lizards running around on the trail and throughout the rocks we climbed on; they ranged from about 3-10 inches long.

We met a Romanian couple on the trail and they were so kind! They shared a favorite mountain/hiking app to find beautiful hikes in Romania and they also said they would love to show us around their hometown. Their town is unfortunately further north than we are planning to head so we won't make it but it was a sweet offer! Last year they had spent some time in the USA (Miami and NYC) and are excited to go back and see the Grand Canyon.
