We hiked Mount Sinai for sunrise and it was beautiful despite the long day/night. We left our place in Dahab at 10pm, drove the Saint Catherine’s monastery with multiple checkpoint stops, and started hiking around 1:30am. The sky was completely full of stars during our hike up, it was breathtaking. We got to the top around 4am and waited for the sun to start rising around the 5am timeframe. The top was very chilly so we rented big blankets to keep warm while we waited. We headed back down around 6am and visited Saint Catherine’s monastery which includes the believed location where God appeared to Moses in the Burning Bush and the well of Moses. Once we wrapped up at the monastery, we headed back to Dahab arriving at noon, phew- we were exhausted but it was a stunning night and morning!
