We took a night tour of Cairo and it was such a blast to be shown around the city by a local. We learned about the history of Cairo and a few neighborhoods and also walked around the famous Khan el-Khalili market. The first photo displays our guide on the far left, our crew including Kayla (Austin's cousin), and a new Danish friend.

We learned that the color green is all over the Muslim culture (e.g., lights on mosques, head coverings, shirts, etc.) and that is because Muhammad, the Muslim prophet, wore a green head scarf. Also, sugar cane is a drink that many Egyptians drink on a hot day or whenever. They grind cold sugar cane sticks into a juice, we tried it and it was very refreshing! There are a few photos embedded below. We had so much fun checking out the market at night and were very excited to go back the next day to shop, get henna, and try a coffee shop.
