We stayed at a guesthouse in a small town that had 1 restaurant so we headed there for dinner. When we got to the restaurant, we couldn’t figure out the menu (even with Google translate) so we asked the waitress (over translate) what her favorite dish was and what she wrote back translated to “Pork dip. We bring fresh pork so customer can wear it around their waist”. What a wild translation haha...We tried it because she recommended it and afterwards, we saw that the locals all got it too! It was essentially a fondue in broth with a bunch of meat that included pork, liver, hot dogs, and this gelatin meat thing.. The pork chunks were good but the rest I did not like. I'd say it was not my favorite meal in Thailand and as I type this, it sounds better than it actually was so we both went to bed a bit hungry that night and even had a snack once we got back home since we didn't fill up on the meal.

That's part of traveling to small villages though, every meal won't be what we expect or in our control but that's ok, that's life.
