We made it to Cono de Arita and camped there for the night. The sunset was stunning over the cone and surrounding mountains; however, the road was really rough(2nd photo). The cone and area is made up of black lava and salt. It is suspected by scientists that the cone was a volcano that did not have enough strength to explode. Some legends also say that the cone was a ceremonial site for the Incas.
