While we were sailing through the Beagle Channel, there weren't too many waves so we were able to get "tested" for our climbing abilities. The test was quite easy; you had to do a full squat showing flexibility and either a pull up or hang on the pull up bar for 30 seconds. We both passed and were very excited to climb into the rigging! The purpose of being able to climb up the rigging is so that you can help pack away the sails tightly and fix any twisted or broken ropes.

We also had many safety briefings and practiced different safety drills. This is Antonia putting on the immersion suit (and the first mate/second in-charge, Dan) in case of an abandon ship call, thankfully, we didn't hear the abandon ship call sign and didn't have to use the suits in the ice cold water, ha.

The crew also practiced a body recovery in case something really bad happened..again, thankfully this wasn't needed on our trip but the ship crew was prepared for everything and all very skillful!
