During our downtime in Taghazout, we were able to plan for the next leg of the trip. We have a lot of exciting activities we want to do in Morocco! We are off to hike the tallest peak in Northern Africa soon, visit Marrakech, and see the desert. We plan to do a full service in Marrakech at a mutual friend/connection’s shop. Thomas runs a big sidecar tour company out of Marrakech called Marrakech Insiders. We have virtually met him via Instagram and originally met him through a friend in France and some friends in Portugal. They are all sidecar people, it’s such a small world once you crack into and everyone has each other’s backs, it’s amazing. :) After the desert, we will venture back north to visit our friend Mohamed (we spent time with him in Imsouane and Taghazout) in Taza which is outside of Fes and eventually end up at the port, Tanger med.

The border to Algeria is closed due to conflict between Morocco and Algeria about Western Sahara so crossing into Algeria is impossible via land. Also, to get an Algerian visa, we would need to apply in the United States and it takes a few months, so we decided to skip Algeria and take a ferry to Tunisia. We plan to spend about three weeks in Tunisia exploring the country and then will ferry to Sicily, drive across southern Italy, and ferry to the Balkans. After the Balkans, we will be Asia-bound and head into Turkey.
