Mount Bromo is an active volcano in East Java. Sometimes the national park has to close due to dangerous volcanic activity but thankfully it was safe for us to visit when we went.

To get into the park, there is a mile

long patch of sand called the “sea of sand”. We were a bit skeptical that Domino would make it through since we usually sink in sand pretty quickly but we decided to go for it and Domino crushed it! Once we crossed the sea of sand, we drove up a big mountain to a beautiful outlook point and had some lunch from a local lady’s cafe.

Bromo is the crater-looking hole that is puffing to the left of the mountain down below us in the photo below. The sea of sand is between the mountain and the lookout mountain we are on.

And then we found a big nail and got a flat tire :( but we score a new record in the full tire swap: 18 minutes and we were good as new!
