We had a really fun night of asado with some new friends in San Martin. At our hostel, we met Felipe who is Argentine and his girlfriend, Lauren, who is from France but they live and work in Senegal. We also met Josh and Alex who are Germans. Felipe is a chef so he was manning the asado (thankfully!!). We threw on chicken since we were making chicken tacos and the other couples had a big slab of meat to throw on for a classic asado (flank steak). It was a night of so many laughs, lots of good food, and great wine too!

Josh, Austin, and Felipe starting the fire:

The first step of an asado is to burn wood to get a sizable bed of coals:

The next step is to spread out the coals but make sure you keep a small fire going to ensure more coals are being made:

After the coals are ready, it's time to throw on the meat!

The final step is, of course, digging in :)
