We are camping our way through hot and humid weather on our way towards the east coast covering ground through the Northern Territory and Queensland. The days are over 100 F and humid and the nights get down to mid 80s F. We thought we would wild camp at random pull offs throughout our drive but have come to realize that a shower after a hot day in the sun feels absolutely incredible and helps cool us off. The days are quite tough but we have plenty of water, electrolytes, and snacks that keep us feeling pretty good. We originally didn’t plan to be in this hot area of Australia at this time of year but we were delayed over 1 month waiting for motorcycle parts up in Darwin so we had to leave later than expected or hoped.

Accommodation deep in the Outback ranges from campgrounds to little cabins with AC. Sometimes camping is the only option though. The little cabins cost minimum $150/night which is quite expensive compared to paying $15/night for accommodation back in Indonesia, ha!

Banka Banka Station is a caravan/campground with bathrooms, showers, a kitchen area, and some grass to put our tent on. We are grateful for all of those things after a long day in the sun on the motorbike. The campground is properly in the outback and had multiple signs for “beware of these 20 different snakes” so I was mentally preparing to see one..we didn't see any though. I am pretty afraid of snakes but really want to see some in the wild so I can normalize it in my head, haha.
