We visited Grandview Church in Quincy, IL today. We met around 10 different people, and each one of them was incredibly welcoming, kind, and hospitable. We got invited to a woman’s home for lunch with her family and friends, but since it was about 30 miles southwest and we were heading northeast, we sadly couldn’t swing it. We average about 40–45 mph on our bike, so we are slow cruising and needed to keep pressing northeast to stay on track for our flight in Canada on the 21st.
After church, we went to Thyme Square Restaurant (recommended by a woman we met at church), which was a delicious brunch spot. It also had a bakery, so their homemade bread was off the charts. Fun fact about the place: 95% of their ingredients were sourced from local farms in the area.
