Pucón is a small, touristy town in Chile that is surrounded by mountains, a huge volcano, and a big lake. Alongside the beautiful terrain, there are many thermal pools sprinkled in the mountains as well.
We went to some that were near a river and figured the combination of the cold snowmelt river water and the hot thermal pools would be prime! It truly was. There were 5-6 thermal pools that had clear and pristine water, some were so hot they had to cool them down with river water. Our favorite thermal pool had some shade coverage, the sun in Chile is so strong and hot - phew! We spent about 2 hours total hopping between the ice cold river and the hot pools, it reminded me of our time in Sweden when we were saunaing and jumping in the ocean to cool off between sauna sessions. The drastic change in temperature is so refreshing and I really love an icy dip after warming up in the thermal pool (or saunas in Sweden).
