Open Door Ministries is an organization in Denver that helps a lot of homeless people, people growing out of homelessness, and more. Austin and I have been involved there the past few years, even before we were married. They have an annual 5k fundraiser race and our friend, Ben, signed up to be a team captain and he put a team together. I joined the team since I like running a bit more than Austin ;)

The day of the race in Denver overlaps when we are on a ferry crossing between islands in Indonesia so I decided to run the race a couple of days before. I am not sure what I was thinking but I ran it midday in the heat and humidity and just about died. We both had just recovered from a cold so that made it extra challenging too. You can tell from my before and after photos that it really took it out of me, ha! Regardless, it was for a great cause and I would definitely do it again!
