This beautiful square was a commercial center that had a bazaar/market and was used for public announcements. One of the buildings was also an education center where men (at the time) would study many different topics.

We walked around the historical site with a couple of locals (Fanil and his wife) who have a mutual friend in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. Our new friend, Josh, from the hostel we were staying at joined us for exploring! He is an Aussie out traveling in Central Asia right now. Fanil and his wife showed us around the square and also found plov which is a typical Uzbek food. We had a super fun evening with them out and about!
