We decided to take a break from driving for about a month or so. We have posted up on the west coast of Morocco spending time in small fishing villages that have a lot of great surf waves and yoga. The first spot is Imsouane. We brought in the new year here and have been surfing and enjoying the warm weather, beaches, and waves. Most of Morocco speaks French so we are trying to bring back our French phrases we learned over the summer. The town itself is quite small: there are about 10-12 cafe/restaurants, 5-7 surf shops, and many surf & yoga hostels around.

The past few days we have spent at the beach and it’s been incredible! We don’t bring our phones to the beach since we leave our towels / beach bags unattended while we surf so photos are very scarce. We bring our sandals, towels, sun screen, and about $10 for lunch (100 Moroccan dirham) with us for our day out at the beach. I, Ellie, typically start my day off with yoga on the rooftop looking out at the ocean - it is quite a dreamy view!

I did take one photo our first day walking around the village…I was trying to capture how packed of surfers the water was because it was insanely crowded. We are hoping that’s because of the Christmas and New Year holiday, but we shall see if the crowd thins out. Thankfully, when you’re in the water, it doesn’t feel as crowded as it looks, phew!
