The surf towns we are staying in are all small fishing villages. After lunch one day, we spotted a man selling his fish in the fishing beach area. The beach is used for the fisherman to access the water (with the help of the tractor) and also store the boats so it’s not the main beach to lay out or surf at but it’s very functional and always buzzing. The fishermen are out constantly, early in the morning until well past dark. I thought the scale where he was weighing the fish was so simple yet fascinating. I haven’t seen a classic weighing scale like that since perhaps elementary school where actual weights are used on the opposite side to gauge the weight of fish on the other side. So simple but very tried and true.
