On our way to Colombia from Ecuador, we passed through a town called Tulcan. The Cemetery was founded in 1932 by José María Azael Franco. He wanted to shape the bushes to honor the beauty of life, even in a place of death. José's son took over the care of the cemetery after his father passed and now it is managed by the local government.
