Ural headquarters in Australia is located in a town called Uralla, funny coincidence! Uralla sits in between Brisbane and Sydney so it was 100% on our list to go to!
We met Clare and Matt, the two who run Ural Australia, and spent about a day and a half with them once we arrived to Uralla. One of our goals was to get a new speedometer since our speedo has not been working for the past year. We successfully got a new one and the new one Is now in kilometers per hour, which is kind of fun to have that for the rest of our life!
We also wanted to figure out how to fix our fender since it has a couple holes in it and has been welded five or six times over the last year and a half. Austin and I initially thought we could get a new fender from them, but then realize that the fender would not fit on our sidecar. In Australia, the sidecars are on the left side of the motorbike since they drive on the left side of the road. But…they ended up having a new right handed fender which would fit our bike! It was a mistake sent over from the USA and it was no good to the Aussies. Now Domino has a new orange fender! They also had a right handed rack for on top of the fender so they gifted both of those to us. We are extremely excited and feel so grateful!
We also got to have coffee Matt, Clare, and Jon; Jon was the man who brought Ural to Australia in 2008 and ran it for sold the business to Clare and Matt a few years back after he retired. It was fun chatting with him and hearing about his adventures early on with Ural. We all enjoyed talking and sipping on coffee and eating biscuits together one of the mornings.
