Austin found a quaint winery near Santiago right at the base of the foothills of the Andes mountains. Beyond the foothills, the mountains can reach almost 18,000 ft (5,500m). Phew, these mountains are so beautiful and it feels amazing to be surrounded by mountains again!

We learned all about Aquitania winery during our time there! They grow their grapes for their red wine at the winery we visited (in Maipo Valley) and they grow their grapes for their white wine further south in the country since those grapes like colder weather. The winery has 14 full time employees and it seemed like a big family there! On our tour, we had people from Peru and Chile so the guide spoke in both English and Spanish. It was great practice to listen in on all of the Spanish!
