We have never been to a cricket match and both want to go to one after realizing how big of a sport it is in Australia and also internationally. The late afternoon of the match, it was dark gray and stormy out and the guy at our hotel told us: "hope the game doesn't get cancelled because of the rain!" as we were leaving for the game. That thought didn't even cross our mind but we had our rain jackets in hand so figured we would risk it and go.

We got to the match about 45 minutes before the match started and realized, not many people get to cricket matches early..that is different than in the USA with sports. We ended up walking around and looking around the stadium and eventually found our seats near the start of the match. Once we sat down, they made an announcement that the game would be delayed due to weather and storms so we waited. And waited..and waited until 8:00pm and they announced the match would be starting soon. After a big rainy storm passed through, the game started around 8:30 instead of 6:00. We were excited it was just delayed instead of cancelled so that we could see some cricket! With delays like that, they shorten the game so we got to watch about 1-1.5 hours of cricket total. The crowd was so passionate and cheering. Pakistan had a decently large group show up to support them waving large flags and whistling really loud! It was a full on action packed match with multiple big hits and some good outs/catches. I still don't understand the game in total but it was enjoyable to watch! It is really neat, they have a circular field, that was a first for me.
