On our final day in Djerba, we visited an adventure park that included a crocodile and reptile park, an imitation historic Berber village, and a museum of the Northern Africa people. The croc and reptile park was our favorite but the historic village was educational to walk through! We met a woman that taught us about how they would traditionally make beads for jewelry and how they added scents to the bead clay (before it hardened) to be a constant perfume as well. The museum was in French and Arabic and given our French reading level is around a kindergartener’s, we didn’t gather too much information but we were able to observe the beauty of the tapestries, jewelry, clothing, weapons, and ancient scripts.

The crocodile and reptile park was WILD! There were 800+ crocodiles and some of them were absolutely huge (15ft/5m). It was amazing to watch them walk and swim even though those two movements were a rarity. They mainly liked to bask in the hot sun and let the tourists watch them. We even got to hold baby crocodiles and their bellies were so so soft compared to their backs which were very rock solid.

We also got to see tortoises, iguanas, and other lizards. I was surprised they were in open barriers, I thought some could have crawled out, haha!
