We wanted to visit some of the Star Wars sites since many were filmed in southern Tunisia. Ksar Ouled Soltane was one that looked sweet from photos online and once we got there in person, there were many more homes than we even expected! This was young Anakin Skywalker’s hometown. We explored and walked around the fortress feeling like little kids discovering and exploring something exciting, which technically we were :) The stairs were very steep and narrow so we definitely had to watch our step!

We had planned to camp on the outskirts of the city that night but a shop owner invited us to stay in his shop cave so we ended up staying the night inside the fortress! It was unexpected but we both were excited to pivot our plans and stay inside one of the cave homes. We had a relaxing evening and played cards for a couple of hours while the sun set.
