At the beginning of the voyage, we received an overload of information, sailing training being one of the topics. This was something both Austin and I were very excited about!
We learned all about the sails and corresponding ropes and rope pegs where the ropes are tied down to on deck. On our ship, we had 32 sails and 240 rope pins! We were taught the system of locating which rope is tied down where and what the rope does to each sail so by the end of the trip, we could figure out how to put up and take down the sails (with the help of many people of course!).
